All eyes on Brazil? While on the global level we’ve been discussing the TRIPS waiver tabled at the World Trade Organization, Brazil has approved a bill that could set a precedent for other global South countries to use compulsory licenses in an easier and more comprehensive way. But Brazilian President Bolsonaro vetoed it. Felipe Carvalho is the coordinator of the Working Group on Intellectual Property (GTPI), based at the Brazilian Interdisciplinary AIDS Association (ABIA). He is a journalist with a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and has worked for years in the area of the right to health and access to medicines.

Rajnia de Vito is an associate of the Feminists for a People’s Vaccine campaign. She is a feminist activist, has a degree in International Relations, a Master’s in Sociology from the Federal Fluminense University and is a specialist in gender and sexuality.
