What does food insecurity have to do with covid-19?

20 Jul 2022

Hunger is rising to unprecedented levels but not because of lack of supply, but rather as a result of the effects of inequality in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The climate crisis and armed conflicts complete the scene, the “State of Food Insecurity and Nutrition in the World 2022” UN report has concluded.

The beautiful picture painted by the 2030 Agenda to end hunger has rather faced a regression. The forums where leaders meet to address global issues has become a champagne room.

Take a look at this instructive cartoon by @helodangeloarte on what food insecurity has to do with Covid-19 and why universal access to Covid health resources is so important.
